Becoming A Christian

All you need to know to become a Christian is your ABCs

Admit that you have sinned. Change the direction your life is heading. Look in the Bible at these scriptures:

Romans 3.23: Everyone has sinned and is far away from God’s saving presence.

Romans 6:23: For sin pays its wages—death; but God’s free gift is eternal life in union with Christ Jesus our Lord.

Acts 3:19: Repent, then, and turn to God, so that he will forgive your sins.

Believe that Jesus Christ is God’s Son and accept God’s gift of forgiveness from your sin. Look in the Bible at these scriptures:

John 3:16: For God loved the world so much that he gave his only Son, so that everyone who believes in him may not die but have eternal life.

Acts 4:12: Salvation is to be found through him [Jesus Christ] alone; in all the world there is no one else whom God has given who can save us.

Romans 5:8: But God has shown us how much he loves us—it was while we were still sinners that Christ died for us!

Confess your belief in Jesus Christ as Savior and Leader of your life from now on. Look in the Bible at these scriptures and then pray the prayer below:

John 14:6: I [Jesus Christ] am the way, the truth, and the life; no one goes to the Father except through me.

Romans 10:9-10: If you confess that Jesus is Lord and believe that God raised him from death, you will be saved. For it is by our faith that we are put right with God; it is by our confession that we are saved.

Ephesians 2:8-9: For it is by God’s grace that you have been saved through faith. It is not the result of your own efforts, but God’s gift, so that no one can boast about it.

Prayer: Dear Jesus, I realize today that I cannot live life alone. I have sinned in my life and I now want to change the direction of my life. I believe that Your Son Jesus sacrificed his life so that I could be forgiven for my sins. I now trust You to be my hope for living each day and the one who will give me direction in life. Come into my life right now and guide me to follow Jesus’ example. Thank you for loving me! AMEN.
